About the event

The fifth session of the Regional Conference on Population and Development of Latin America and the Caribbean is scheduled to be held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, on 3-4 July 2024, preceded on July 2 by a day of side events and civil society activities. The objectives of the meeting are to present the final version of the Second regional report on the implementation of the Montevideo Consensus on Population and Development by the Technical Secretariat, to address achievements of the Montevideo Consensus and challenges 30-year after the adoption of the Program of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), and analyze the progress and challenges in relation to the rights of persons with disabilities within the framework of the population and development agenda. All ECLAC Member States are expected to participate, as well as representatives of the United Nations system and civil society.
